This unique Home & Hearth box is handcrafted and signed by Karen Kelleher Carneiro. A perfect home for jewelry, keepsakes or as a beautiful gift. Inspired by the historic and charming streets of Lisbon, it is a one of a kind functional piece of art.

 

The wooden box has been enhanced with painted lace designs in a metallic bronze and silver on textured paper. Protected with a glossy resin finish, easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

 

The decorative lid has my photograph of a door/entryway in the charming Alfama district of Lisbon, Portugal. Adorned with an antique doorknocker and keys, leaf skeletons and gold leaf rubbed with blue and brown patinas. The sides are painted with gold and bronze lace designs and embellished with skeleton leaves and faux pearls. The lid is hinged in the back with a front latch. Gold satin trim wraps around the top of the lid. The bottom is felt lined with painted wooden legs.

 

The interior is painted a metallic bronze and varnished. The padded bottom is lined with a flowered white statin tapestry. The interior lid has a mirror with brown satin trim.
