This unique Sunflower box is handcrafted and signed by Karen Kelleher Carneiro. A perfect home for jewelry, keepsakes or as a beautiful gift. Inspired by the nature, it is a one of a kind functional piece of art.

 

The wooden box has been enhanced with copper leaf and patinas in reds, browns and greens. Protected with a glossy resin finish, easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

 

The decorative lid has my photos of sunflowers. Dried flowers and leaves are layered with encaustic wax and lace-like paper. Adorned with golden butterflies and an oxidized iron butterfly. The sides are decorated with dried leaves and flowers. The lid is hinged in the back with a front latch. Red satin trim and gold metallic trim wrap around the top of the lid. The bottom is felt lined with painted wooden legs.

 

The interior is painted a metallic espresso and varnished. The padded bottom is lined with a golden yellow taffeta. The interior lid is lined with lace-like paper and a mirror with red satin trim.
