"Springtime"

 

This unique lily and butterfly box is the perfect home for jewelry or keepsakes for you or as a beautiful gift. Inspired by nature, it is a one of a kind functional piece of art. The themed box is handcrafted by me – Karen Kelleher Carneiro, signed and dated.

 

The wooden box has been enhanced with gold leaf and patinas in red, green and brown. Protected with a glossy resin finish.

 

The decorative lid has a photo of an African lily framed with a recycled jewelry piece and dangling amethyst stones. Adorned with brightly painted dried fern leaves, amethyst and aventurine stones, an agate crystal geode, golden butterflies and dried moss. The sides have brightly painted dried fern leaves in purple and green. The lid is hinged in the back with a front latch. The bottom is felt lined with decorative beads for legs.

 

The interior is painted rich espresso and varnished. The bottom is padded and fabric lined with purple taffeta. The interior lid has a brightly colored ferns, rhinestones and butterflies with a high gloss resin finish.
