This unique lavender box is handcrafted and signed by Karen Kelleher Carneiro. A perfect home for jewelry, keepsakes or as a beautiful gift. Inspired by nature, it is a one of a kind functional piece of art. 

The wooden box has been enhanced with gold leaf and patinas in blues, greens and browns protected with a glossy resin finish.

The decorative lid is layered with lace-like paper. Adorned with photographs taken in Portugal of a wild salvia field and a close-up of an African lily. Lavender stems, green aventurine and amethyst stones have been embedded into the resin. Embellished with copper and mother of pearl butterflies. The lid is hinged in the back with a front latch. The bottom is felt lined with crystal legs. The sides are adorned with lavender stems, leaf skeletons, aventurine and amethyst stones with a beaded trim along the top.

The interior is painted brown and metallic gold with a gloss varnish. The padded bottom is lined with purple taffeta. The interior lid has a mirror decorated with beaded trim and a butterfly.
