This unique Arbutus Tree box is handcrafted and signed by Karen Kelleher Carneiro. A perfect home for jewelry, keepsakes or as a beautiful gift. Inspired by the nature, it is a one of a kind functional piece of art.

 

The wooden box has been enhanced with gold and silver leaf. Patinas in blues and greens are rubbed into the leaf. Protected with a glossy resin finish, easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

 

The decorative lid has my photograph of a silhouetted Arbutus tree. White silvery pods layered with encaustic wax and gold lace-like paper frame the photo. Adorned with bronze and copper colored leaf embellishments and rhinestones. The sides are decorated with pods, leaf embellishments, rhinestones and aventurine stones. Dark blue satin trim wraps around the top edge. The lid is hinged in the back with a front latch. The bottom is felt lined with green marbleized legs.

 

The interior is painted a metallic espresso and varnished. The padded bottom is lined with a bright blue taffeta. The interior lid is lined with a gold lace paper, a mirror trimmed with gold mesh and embellished with leaves and rhinestones.
